My writing process for this essay involved a lot of revisiting my ideas. According to my Google Drive I worked on this paper nine separate occasions. I started writing my rough draft by reflecting on what we had discussed and read in class so far, along with thinking about what we have been discussing in 324 and how I might be able to use some of the things I have wrote about in my writer’s notebook in this essay. From there, I tried to revisit my draft every time we read something new that I thought added to my ideas. Furthermore, after we talked about one paragraph of our choosing in class, I went back to my draft again and tried to make the tone I established in my first few sentences carry throughout the paper. I did a lot of addition and some deletion and moving around, and I also played around with the idea of including some information on when objective writing is helpful, but I ultimately decided that that was kind of distracting so I got rid of it. Since the main focus of this essay is on subjectivity, I would like some feedback on how my voice is coming off in this essay because, like I mentioned in the beginning of the essay, this is really the first time I’ve been given an assignment where I was asked to take some writing risks. Honestly, I found this essay difficult to write because I am so used to writing with a very academic voice, and I tried to use a more natural voice here.
